Ingredients
Bar Ingredients
2 cups flour
2 cups brown sugar
1 stick butter
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 egg
1 cup sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups peeled apples (finely chopped)
Topping Ingredients
11 oz. package butterscotch morsels
1/3 cup whipping cream
1 Tbsp. light corn syrup
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Directions
Bar Preparation
Preheat oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9” x 12” pan.
Combine the first three ingredients and mix until crumbled.
Stir in walnuts.
Press 2 cups of mixture into the bottom of the pan.
Add cinnamon, baking soda, and salt and blend well.
Add egg, sour cream, and vanilla.
Stir in apples.
Bake for 30 – 35 minutes (until toothpick comes out clean).
Topping Preparation
Combine ingredients except vanilla in a heavy saucepan.
Cook over low heat until morsels melt (about 3 to 5 minutes).
Stir in vanilla. Serve warm.
